Driver (Part-Time) – Washington Office

Our drivers assist individuals with disabilities by providing transportation to riders via minibus, van, or car. Drivers will transport consumers, trainees, or company personnel. Our drivers help support our mission of empowering people with disabilities and promoting independent living.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
  • Ability to operate wheelchair lift on van
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Each employee must be able to perform the Essential Functions of the job with or without accommodations. This position requires the lifting and moving on average of 30 pounds on a regular basis, including the occasional lifting of mobility equipment that may exceed this weight.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
