Happy 32nd Anniversary to the ADA

As Voices for Independence remains dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and promoting independent living, we recognize that there is still much work to do, even 32 years after the ADA became law.

We hope that everyone was able to celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which turned 32 on July 26th. While you may already know what the ADA is, much can be said about the battle that was fought for the ADA to come to fruition. We invite you to take a look at this timeline of milestones in disability rights history, to learn more.

As Voices for Independence remains dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and promoting independent living, we recognize that there is still much work to do, even 32 years after the ADA became law. We have proudly served individuals with disabilities throughout Western Pennsylvania for over 30 years, and we look forward to continuing this important work within our communities.

A special thank you to our friends at ADA National Network (1-800-949-4232)for providing the information in the links above, the ADA32 logo, and for always championing disability rights across the nation.
