Consumer Model
You are the employer of your attendants. You do the interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, day-to-day supervising and firing. VFI can assist you with these tasks, if you request, but you ultimately manage your attendants. You are also primarily responsible for your own back-up support. VFI processes your attendants’ paychecks for you, taking responsibility for taxes and other required payroll deductions. You would submit your attendants’ timesheets to VFI so we can process payment, but you are the employer of the attendants.
Agency Model
VFI is the employer of the attendants that work with you. You’re your support, the agency model attendant supervisors will interview and hire attendants. The attendants will be given general direction regarding your schedule and needs but will still need and take direction from you regarding how you would like tasks performed. If you are not satisfied with an attendant you can notify the supervisor and steps will be taken to correct any problems. If it is not possible to correct the problems the supervisors will work with you to find another attendant.
Combination Model
This model combines consumer and agency model. An example of how this model might be used is you employing your attendants Monday through Friday and VFI employing attendants for you on Saturday and Sunday.
