Voices for Independence

The Accounting Department takes pride in accurately recording and reporting the assets, liabilities, income and expenses of Voices for Independence. Reports of the organization’s business activities are provided to the Board of Directors, internal management, banks, funding providers, independent auditors and government oversight agencies. As well as documenting past activities, the reports are a basis for decision making for current and future activities. The Accounting Department also prepares detailed budgets and cash flow forecasts.

In addition to reporting, the Accounting Department processes accounts payable to pay invoices and submits invoices to our various funding sources.

We also provide services as a Fiscal Agent for many of our consumers. These services include the processing of payroll for the attendants of our consumers. Voices for Independence handles the filing of payroll taxes with federal, state and local governments, as well as resolving problems that may arise with any of the taxing bodies.

The overall goal of the Accounting Department is the smooth, efficient and effective handling of all of Voices for Independence’s financial matters. In this way, we can provide the best possible service to our consumers.
